Academic Advising

Welcome! The Office of Student Success and Inclusion provides academic counseling and career coaching for new and returning students. Our academic advisors empower students to accept responsibility for their own education by providing academic guidance, degree plans, and career exploration.

Our faculty and staff collaborate to offer a complete advising program for our students. We encourage our students to make appointments but we will also see students on a first come-first serve basis (subject to availability).

Advising and registration with an Academic Advisor can be accomplished in the following ways:

  1. Person to Person Advising
  2. Collaborate Virtual Advising
  3. Tela-Conference Advising

We encourage our students to make an appointment by calling (936) 633-5212. All required admissions paperwork must be turned into the Registrar's Office before scheduling an appointment for class registration.

Fall and Spring Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Summer Hours:

Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Collaborate Virtual Advising

We know that our students have busy schedules and setting up a time to meet with an advisor is not always convenient. We do offer virtual advising appointments for students on the go! These appointments allow students to use their smartphone, tablet or desktop computer to connect with an academic counselor. To schedule a virtual advising appointment, please call our office at (936) 633-5212 or send us an e-mail at cva@angelina.edu.

Before You Begin

Please note that you will need speakers on your computer/laptop to hear audio in the presentation. If you have a microphone for your computer/laptop, you can use it to ask questions or to provide responses by clicking the mic button. If you do not have a microphone, you can pose questions using the Chat Text Box; however, having a mic for an audio conversation is recommended.

If you are using a tablet or a phone, you should already have access to both video and audio on the device.

An internet speed of 56K or above is needed for a clear connection to the event. While you can join the event through a wireless connection, it is recommended that your computer/laptop is plugged in to an Ethernet connection, if available.  If you use your cell phone, please download the Bb Student app.
